Renée and Jennifer have known each other for over a decade. Within the first couple years of having met, Renée Jimenez rose to become the CEO of MNK Architects. Jennifer Countryman—recently married and previously Jennifer Matthews—joined her at MNK five years in. Together, the partners, Registered Architects in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, have built an award-winning practice. MNK is currently at the forefront of the ongoing transformations of Eastwood, Burges, Montwood, and El Paso High Schools. They won a 2018 American Institute of Architects Award for the Eastside Sports Complex; and AIA recognition in 2015 for the Museum of History’s Digital Wall. MNK led the teams that designed Southwest University Ballpark and the El Paso Children’s Hospital. They’ve also enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of designing smaller scale places: Famous Dave’s – Far East, Tropical Smoothie Café - Sunland, Casa Ford, The Church Bar, and the upcoming Orange Theory Fitness Center and Marco’s Pizza franchise locations. The MNK family is made up of 13 professionals, experienced personnel that know the business from all angles. Clients appreciate their dollars and cents perspective, ability to think outside the box, and solutions-oriented approach. Their love of architecture goes beyond helping others launch their projects; Renee is busy designing a private getaway in her backyard, and Jennifer adopts and restores historic buildings.
