El Paso Community College Transmountain Classroom + Lab Addition

This project expands the original distinctive 1979 campus by 25,000 SF. The new Transmountain Campus Classroom | Lab Addition design continues the spirit of the campus, angular design set into the earth, looking up towards the mountains and fields that precede them. The Transmountain Campus Classroom | Lab Addition features an angular with strategic vistas towards the outdoors that enliven hallways, collaborative study areas, and faculty offices alike. The façade’s most distinctive feature is lined with aluminum profiles that mimic various shades of wood, same material used to shade outdoor study areas and provide shading to classroom window openings. The heavily textured stucco walls change desert landscape hues as they move from the existing to the new building.

Size: 25,000 SF
